The Mother Study is a community devoted to two connected pursuits: understanding motherhood as an education in itself, and cultivating the intellectual lives of the women who experience it.
We believe motherhood has much to teach us. We also believe that a mother’s curiosity, interests, ideas, and desire to learn deserve room to flourish beyond the responsibilities of raising children.
Here, we make space for both: the study of motherhood and the continuing education of the mother.
Studying Motherhood
Motherhood is an education in itself. Through raising children, we encounter lessons about human nature, relationships, character, responsibility, and ourselves. We make room to reflect on what the experience is teaching us.
Studying for Ourselves
Mothers deserve intellectual lives of their own. We make room to read, question, explore ideas, pursue interests, and study the world—not only to serve our families, but because our minds are worthy of cultivation.
There is room for your growth here, too.
